Nice color, small size
I wish these were just a little bigger. These would be great for smaller kids, not ideal for teens or adults. The material is nylon which is good for spills but not super comfortable. Colors are vibrant, though. Size is nice if you need to tuck the in a closet between uses.

Bought for kids in boat
I bought these for the grandkids on the boat because the marine seats are so expensive. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. Very durable and well made. They are a bit overstuffed and full. They got left in the cabin porch during a thunderstorm and held up very well. Perfect camping and extra seat in the boat. Nice handle on top to carry. A little small for adults but could work.

My 2 year old loves it
Got this for my 2 year old who loves this very much. Everyone in the house wants to using it too, including me.Would certainly purchase it again. It was not as soft as I taught it would be, but I feel like the plasticity feel helps it to last longer. It is very light.

Normal
This is a normal quality bean bag. The seam on the bottom has busted open 3x now. I just keep stitching it back together. Not good for small kids, active kids or kids with disabilities that may eat the tiny white balls inside it or for people with dogs that may eat the balls.

In 2nd week it needs more stuffing. It’s red and a 2 foot round chair so that correct.
I choose the nylon one as to cloth one for durability. That’s been best so far being used by my nephews and nieces. It depends on the floor surface it slides out from them as the sit on it. As i found in the past and this one is the same as others the bottom material is stretching at seem. Good its not leaking so far like others have. Awaiting more stuffing to arrive.

Does not last for canine use
We bought this for our dog to lay on. She is quite old and likes the comfort of a bean bag. Initially the bag is too full of beans, so you have to remove some beans. No big deal. But the bag itself does not hold up to daily use by the dog. We’ve been through two of them because they develop tears at the seems. Its not from the dog scratching at the bag, they just wear out I think from constant use. So it may not be fair to Big Joe to say their product doesn’t last because I don’t think their primary use case is for a dog, but that’s what we bought it for. So if you want something like this for your dog, you may want to look elsewhere.

Low quality fabric – stitching ripped within a week
The stitching near the zipper tore within one week of use, causing a hole and a big mess of foam beads everywhere. The fabric itself is frayed in that spot, so even if I try to sew it closed again, I’m not confident it won’t just tear again. The fabric is thin and a low-quality weave, not the durable canvas or tarpaulin-type fabric that it appears to be. This did not hold up well under typical usage conditions by small children. They were not rough with it, poking it, swinging it around, jumping, or doing anything other than dropping down to sit on it. I would expect a bean bag chair designed for children to at least be able to handle the weight of a child sitting on it without popping.

Fragile
If your kid likes to jump and face plant – basically do all the reckless little kid stuff – just know this bean bag won’t withstand it. My daughter has already busted a hole in the seam after less than two weeks. Let this be a quiet, reading time bean bag to preserve it.

Arrived Dirty
I ordered 2 of these and the first arrived dirty with no tags – the second was clean with tags. I contacted the company and was told to go through Amazon. The only option I could get from Amazon was to return it. The price has since gone up so I would have to pay more to order a replacement. Disappointing that I have to clean something I just purchased (and kind of gross). I love them otherwise. Perfect for what I need.

Best customer service ever!
We bought one in December, and by February, a hole formed on the bottom and started to leak beads. My 4 year old slings it around and jumps on it, so I wasn’t exactly surprised it didn’t last long. But I contacted the company, provided pics of the product and hole in it, and they replaced it in less than a week! I couldn’t be more pleased!

Durable when used as intended
It was a great concept of a portable, easy to carry, comfy chair…BUT my 7yo kid decided that it was for long distance jumping on. After just 4 days of use it now has a sizeable hole in an area where all 4 seams meet. It’s a great bean bag chair, better than what I had as a kid, but when you’re too aggressive with it it will definitely tear
Will buy again, but much much later in the future.

This is our second Big Joe and the material holds up to a lot of rough housing in the playroom. After a few months additional stuffing is needed, but it was inexpensive. The bean bag is a good size for younger children and will accommodate an adult sitting upright or leaning against it on the floor.

Not durable
I purchased two of these beanbags for my kids for Christmas 2023. They were great until the seams started ripping open. These really were not abused – my kids may have flopped on them a bit but not enough to cause this damage. One lasted about 8-9 months, the other 11. I will not be purchasing any more Big Joe products.

“Big” would not describe this bean bag
The title for this bean bag is a bit deceiving. It is not a “big” bean bag, classic yes, big no. It is made of durable fabric, nice size for preschoolers and some school age children. Not for gaming. Would I recommend it, sure, for young children who like to nestle.

First one burst at the seams, quick replacement!
After about 2 weeks my Big Joe ripped at the seam. I contacted the Amazon retailer and they quickly sent me a replacement. The second one has been good and more sturdy so far!

Toddler loves it
I got this for my 2 yr old and it’s her favorite seat in the house now. It was a little too overfilled (which I appreciate rather than it being under filled), so I just took some out. It was a bit messy, but vacuumed up pretty well. Super happy with my purchase.

I love these for my reading area in my classroom
Updated – 09/15 – I found out Big Joe has a one year Warranty on their products. I filled out a form with pictures and proof of purchase and they are sending me 4 replacement bean bag chairs for my classroom. I am impressed with the customer service.Updated 09/11 – all 4 of the Big Joe Black Bean Bags chairs I purchased in November of 2023 have ripped out on the bottom seams. They are not able to be repaired due to the fraying of the fabric. I am very disappointed they did not even last a year (they were only used in my classroom reading area for 6 months).

Durable
It’s a great durable bean bag chair. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it was so much smaller then I thought it would be. It said adult but it seemed it would fit kids better. It came with stuffing beads which was nice but I had to buy more and stuff so much more into it. I like the double zipper so it doesn’t leak. It does look nice and keep its shape. Easy to wipe clean.

Seam tore already
After mild play for one month, the seam on the bottom has separated letting the foam balls out. Before this, my 4 year old loved this chair. I have submitted a warranty claim through the manufacturer’s website.6/15/24 update- Warranty claim was processed and a new bean bag was received about 5 days after processing. Changed rating from 2 to 4 stars.

Big Joe’s bean bags
Fantastic size and color. They will be used by grandchildren. The best thing about this order was the shipment by UPS they brought it directly to the house and they were three days early. When items a shipped through USPS the items are 2 to 3 days later and I have to drive to our rural post office and load the items myself (I am 75) and unload and it is not easy. Wish Amazon would ship all my items through UPS and not USPS.

A great size for our 7yr old. Has been used for 2yrs, and has held up well.
We’ve had this bean bag for 2yrs now, and the shell itself has held up very well. We bought it for our now 7yr old daughter, and as you can see by all of these pics, it has been dragged and used all around our house and for many different reasons since she was 5. It’s not as full as it looks in the description picture, which is disappointing, but that hasn’t bothered her and has been just fine for her short and slim size at 48 inches, and 45 lbs. Our older tween who is 5’5 has even used it at times, but I honestly wouldn’t recommend this for that age unless you plan on filling it full of extra beans.We’ve had no issues with harsh chemical smells or thing’s staining the outer shell, and our daughter is a pretty messy kiddo. The outer shell is made of a slick, shiny material that’s easy to wipe clean with a wet towel. It’s not a furry fabric type of material that needs to be laundered, which is a plus for our purpose, and is the main thing this bag has going for it. We love that she’s been able to easily carry or drag this thing around on her own, and is one of the main reasons she wanted one. This item is one of the good ole Big Joe bean bags that we were looking for, and for that I’m happy. Because this is not very full and the beans themselves are pretty lightweight, it’s easy to store and travel with if needed, as well.The only negative thing I can say about this beanbag, and for some it might be a pretty big negative, is that it’s not as full as we’d hoped. Especially as time goes on. You can always buy and add additional beans, but we just never did get around to buying more, and I really didn’t think we needed to spend additional money for an item to look as advertised. Nor should we have to.We are still pleased with this purchase however, especially for our purpose of purchasing, and because our daughter has genuinely enjoyed it, and used it. The fact that it’s lower to the ground and doesn’t offer much support due to not being full, makes this 98 inch size ideal for younger kiddos. I would recommend buying a larger size for teens or adults, or buying those additional beans to add, because the size of the shell itself, is a perfect size. I hope our experience and pictures help give you an idea of what to expect in person.
