Plays great
I bought this turntable when I bought a vintage record album and found out my old Gerard turntable didn’t work any more. I was skeptical, but ordered it and was pleasantly surprise at how well it works. The sound is great and I am very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend this turntable if you have lots of old albums and find that your old turntable just doesn’t work anymore. I was happy to find they still make them. This Sony one is perfect!!

She is perfect for someone who wants quality sound experience within a consistent price range.1. She’s def far better sound quality than anything I’ve experienced2. I can use a sound bar. Bluetooth headphones. Or physical speakers. The versatility is a huge + for our household.3. Easy common sense use. No frills. The build does :feel: inexpensive but did not necessarily take away from the experience over all.I did also initially set up the drive belt on the wrong spot and couldn’t figure out why it wouldnt turn on. The motor pulley :does: look similar to other parts to a beginner.Overall very pleased with this addition to our household.

Turntable good bundle bad
The Sony Store offers this turntable with 3 options:1- Standalone, meaning turntable only2- With a pair of Sony bookshelf speakers3- With a Sony receiverI purchased this as a Christmas gift for a beginner around Black Friday and since the price was good I got the bundle with speakers. The turntable works fine and ideal for a beginner. The bluetooth connects without any hitch. And the device itself is aesthetically pleasing! If you are looking for a simple turntable to begin your audiophile journey this is a good place to start. The problem as I experienced is the bundling with the speakers. Unfortunately the description on amazon is not clear enough to let the buyer know that the turntable will not work with the speaker even thru the built-in phono. So a newbie will have difficulty connecting these 2. If you purchase the speaker bundle then you NEED a receiver or amplifier in between because the output frequency is not strong enough for the speakers. A direct connection won’t work. For that matter you need some wires and audio connections depending on your amplifier input/outputs. This is going to be a hassle.Fortunately I found a $30 amplifier and was able to install the whole thing for that person. But it did waste my time. If the page would have had enough info I wouldn’t be wasting this time and would have bought that amplifier along with necessary wires beforehand to go with the gift.Let’s be honest, if someone already has an amplifier or receiver they most likely have speakers and don’t need more. So when Sony offers a bundle with speakers it’s basically useless! It seems like they just want to get rid of those speakers. More honesty is required on behalf of Sony. So I’m not going to recommend the speaker bundle unless you already have an amplifier without speakers!

After 3 reviews from 5 star to 1 star give it a 4 star
Sony came thru! This is the 2nd turntable try for me. Gave up on the first one. You will probably need software. I did mine with a 30 day free trial. The cost to buy the software was cheap if you do vinyls a lot.UPDATE Had some problems with the $50 software but got it fixed. SONY is a good product. Lowered my final rating to 4 stars

My First Record Player
Buying a record Player and playing Vinyl in 2023-2024 Maybe you think I’m too old, well I am not, and this is my first time of listening to something else than Digital in a long while. And I tell you that this Turntable is the boom, connected to my AV receiver’s Phono with Surround Dolby Speakers, this thing sound as if I am present in the performance, wow just wow. Why would I play Analog, when I can stream almost everything on the Internet?, well for me it’s simple I have so many reasons but let me just say that I feel so happy having to actually go through some manual process to play a song instead of a tap of a button on my phone or remote, lifting a record, cleaning it and then putting it on the turntable then listening to it and at the end leaving my desk to go change it actually gives me a sense of belonging. Also I must point out that I sit too long on my desk and having to get up to change a Vinyl record each time is also good for my health. This Record Player is Amazing, Sony hardly disappoint, I highly recommend this to anyone trying to own a Record player.

Like it alot.
Returned another brand and got this TT. I’m not a audiophile with a high end system (wife wouldn’t let me 😉 ) so just wanted a good sound with less hassle. Great basic unit here. Auto start and stop. Sounds good thru amp/speakers as well as BT. No issues. Will report back if that changes.

Questionable durability: Main cam gear post broke after 1 year
The durability of this turntable is questionable, perhaps not surprising at such a budget price point.Right after the 1 year mark (when the warranty expires), the black plastic post around which the main cam gear rotates broke off of the plastic plinth. It appears to have been glued on, and the glue failed. I’m not a turntable expert, but my impression is that the main cam gear puts a fair amount of force on that post as it actuates the tone arm. I’m surprised it wasn’t at least screwed on, or made out of metal.I tried in vain to superglue the post back on with JB Weld. Each time, the post quickly broke off again after the main cam gear spun a few times.I finally got the idea to use a drill to widen the 2.5mm hole in the plinth where the post had been mounted using a tiny nub at its end, and then screwed a 30mm M4x0.7 bolt from the underside of the turntable. It is pretty easy to remove the bottom cover of this turntable by taking out a bunch of screws. I then used a hex nut on the top of the bolt to fasten the main cam gear back on. It took some doing to get it aligned, but I managed to get the turntable to start/stop again. I am hearing some background noise from the spindle and the cam gear perhaps not being perfectly aligned with each other, but it’s not audible once playback starts and maybe it was there all along. So I just barely managed to save this turntable from the trash heap only 1 year after getting it. Also, the belt got broken somehow. I was able to get a Sony OEM replacement from parts-distribution.com. I think the belt has a tendency to work its way off the inner circle of the platter, and there’s nothing really preventing it from slipping off the platter, so I’m wondering if that’s how it got broken so quickly. I feel like I’ll have to monitor that from now on.It is pretty packed with features for such an inexpensive turntable. The auto-start and stop is convenient and the Bluetooth connectivity has worked well for me. (It is weird, as others have mentioned, that the RCA output plugs are dangling out the back instead of just providing female ports.) I haven’t tried the USB feature but it’s cool that it’s there. You get what you pay for. While I wouldn’t say this is junk, I bought this thinking “Sony doesn’t sell junk,” and so I am disappointed about some of these important pieces being not only plastic but apparently just glued on. (I understand this isn’t a product Sony built in-house but is a rebadged product manufactured by Hanpin.)In short, it’s fixed for now using $5 in hardware store parts and I’m going to try and get as much mileage as I can out of it, but I don’t think I would buy this turntable again. If I were spending this little, I would probably go for something fully manual… less complicated mechanisms to break!

Turntable for the Modern Era
The media could not be loaded.
I have an extensive album collection that has been in storage. At one time I was playing them on a high end Technics turntable paired with a 45 watt receiver. But like a lot of people who move and upgrade with technology, I put the stereo equipment into storage and I’ve been streaming my music with Amazon. A while back, I figured I either needed to get rid of my albums or find a way to play them without setting up a complete system. This Sony turntable fit the bill. It’s simple to set up and operate. I paired the turntable Bluetooth with my Samsung TV & soundbar with surround speakers. I also paired it with my Bose headphones. The built-in amp provides plenty of gain. Of course your sound quality depends mostly on the speakers. It sounds great. Plenty of volume. The turntable looks modern and will blend in with any home decor. The only suggestions I have for Sony with the product, it is to have the RCA cables as standalone where they plug into the back of the unit rather than hardwired. The other is to have a Sony app to enhance the Bluetooth setup. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Assembly required, but very easy to use
There is some assembly required, but nothing too difficult. The assembly instructions are easy to follow and include step by step on how to connect to Bluetooth devices. This record player has a minimalist, modern, streamlined look and produces quality sound through bluetooth. I have only used it with bluetooth so cannot compare it with other outputs. Some cool features: You don’t have to manually place or remove the needle. This machine is highly autonomous which relieves the owner of any extra work. Upon hitting play, the motor spins and the tonearms is lifted, moved, and placed into it’s playing position. As the record reaches the end, instead of continuing to spin and “skip” the needle continuously, it automatically returns the tonearm to its resting place and stops the motor. Great first record player.

Next step for vinyl collectors
I started listening to vinyl on a Victrola and decided it was time to upgrade. I don’t have a receiver or expensive speakers, just a Bluetooth soundbar & subwoofer that I use for my TV and gaming system. After reading other reviews I felt the Sony PS-LX310BT was a good fit with the options it offered and the price point. The setup was easy, connecting to my soundbar via Bluetooth was super simple, and the audio quality was excellent. I plan on purchasing a backup stylus and drive belt because I plan on keeping this around for years.

Nice starter belt Record player with Bluetooth
This record player comes partly disassembled. You’ll put on the inner metal disc. Install the belt. Then install the included internally built red and white rca & power cord both about 6’. It has volume levels for different adjustments low, med, high. Power button is on back. Bluetooth and speeds are on top of player round buttons. The included 45 adapter and hinges come tucked in the styrofoam. The 45 adapter slot is located on the right side back, (look on the side low near the feet). The location is not listed in the manual. The start button works great. Automatically lifts and lowers in the right spot. When done it goes back and shuts off. I used phono and rca inputs. Both sounded great. Pairs well with Sony’s receiver they sell in a bundle. 2 cons: you have to use the built in rca cord. The arm doesn’t have a lock. Sits on a rest loose.… Highly recommend though.

Beautifully packaged; excellent manual
A product like this makes me always want to buy a Sony product. The turntable was beautifully and securely packaged and the manual was excellently written. Succinct, clear, and accurate. I used this to start saving my Christmas vinyl LPs as digital files and pass them on to family members. I did quite a bit of research before choosing this turntable, which is more expensive than other models with similar though likely inferior capabilities. You have to use a separate (not provided) software program to effect the conversion (I used Audacity), which was the most challenging part of the conversion process. I haven’t tested the bluetooth capability yet, at which point I’m sure this would end up being a 5 star review.

Beautiful Starter Record Player
Great machine for people that want plug and play. Easy to use, the thing has just four buttons, three that make a loud clack when pressed hence, the four stars. (Seriously tho!)But I still love this player, yes, I have tried to command it to play next before I remember that I’m supposed to be in old-school mode. But the record player keeps me in the moment, makes me listen to, and start to love all the songs on the album because other than turning it off you have to get to the end of the side. Lol.Forgot I was reviewing the product, not the record playing experience in general.Set up was easy. Bluetooth, once set up, you never have to think of it. There’s no lag time at all.It comes with a gadget for smaller records but, I don’t own any of those so I’m happy.Yes, you will have to surgically put a few parts together, but that’s the only nerve racking part. I used a YouTube video or one of the reviews on Amazon to put mine together. The lid does help reduce dust but get yourself a dusting kit.The felt pad does stick to the record and comes off when I pull the record out but with time I’m learning to gently separate them on removal. This player will help you start a list of must-have features for your upgrade. But it sound great, I got everything I expected and more. I am glad I am enjoying my record player moments.

Doesn’t do what is claimed
This turntable doesn’t output sound via USB. Nor does is output to anything but a sound system via Bluetooth. The USB functionality is to update firmware, which has never been released. The line-out is sketchy at best. I’m very good with computers, and I’ve never managed to get this thing to even play a single album over USB, bluetooth, or RCA with even decent results. Whatever you’re assuming the description means, it can’t do that. It has a USB connection, that should serve as a line-in for a PC. It has a bluetooth radio, that should serve as a line-in for a PC. It has RCA outs, those should serve as a low-level input to an amplifier. But none of them do. All of these things should just work without having specialized gear just for this purpose. You’re paying for it, but it doesn’t work.

Good Turntable to Get into Vinyl
I had my doubt when I decided to get this turntable – not only because the price tag (200 usd is lower than most entry level turntables from many considered serious turntable manufacturer), but also for the bluetooth connection, which is a blasphemy for most turntable enthusiasts, as the reason for many of them to get into turntable is for the analog sound. My fear was escalated when I received the product – it is light, the platter is thin (comparing to usually seen hifi-grade turntable). However, after spending a few days with this turntable, I have to admit that the sound is much better than I thought, and I believe it is a good product to get into the turntable, which I think is what this product is for. Setup was really easy, about 3 minutes in and it was ready to play. First I tried it with a blue tooth soundbar. The connecting process was almost instant and the connection was very stable. Although I do wish that it would support Google Home, which would allow me to connect to more speakers that I already have. There is no need to connect any pre-amp, which is quite common for entry level turntables. It is literally just a situation of plug the power and play. What’s not common is that it also has amp built in and allows you to choose three levels of output – low, mid, high. The sound came out of the turntable was better than I expected – a good sense of clarity and sound stage, sound is a little bit cold for turntable, but sonic presentation throughout the spectrum was tight. The coldness, as I suspected, has improved after a few days, which is also common for any turntable. Then I tried to connect the to an external tube amp with the RCA output, and naturally the sound was largely improved. The warmth that is so unique to vinyl really shined in this scenario, and the details came out more, especially in the higher register (above 8k hz). All in all, I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in getting into turntable and vinyl. The performance was great for the price and even comparable to some higher priced entry level turntable. It is also fun to explore different modes of playing which will appeal to different needs.

Very solid.
I forewent purchasing an AudioTechnica because I was starstruck by the automatic start/stop. (For that feature alone and how well it works, I would recommend this player.) I wasn’t spinning my records for a while, because all I had access to was my boyfriend’s Victrola and it usually caused my records to skip. I haven’t had that problem with this player at all. The bluetooth is an amazing plus, if you’re just getting started and not quite considering yourself an “audiophile.” I’ve used a bluetooth speaker with this frequently. My ONLY gripe, other than the absolute size of the thing (it feels incredibly huge to me in comparison to some other good players) is that it only accepts Sony cartridges, and from what I can tell, you have to call directly to ask for them to send you those parts, which is just kind of an annoying hassle and takes away your long term ability to customize your setup. If none of that matters to you, though, I would highly recommend this, especially as a starter turntable.

A Turntable That Revives the Golden Era of Music
I absolutely love this Sony turntable! The design is sleek, and the sound quality is exceptional. I paired it with the recommended speakers, and the combination is pure magic. Listening to records on this setup instantly transports me back to the golden days of vinyl, where the warm crackling sound of vintage records was all we knew and needed. It’s a perfect way to relive those timeless memories. Highly recommend this for any vinyl enthusiast or those wanting a touch of nostalgia with modern quality.

Incredibly easy setup!
I recently came across a box full of my wife’s vinyl albums that she had purchased in the 70’s & 80’s. I remembered I had an old Akai receiver/amp and a pair of Sansui speakers stowed in my attic for the past 30 years, but no turntable. I purchased this Sony turntable on line. It arrived quickly and in a very short time the system was blaring out the songs of The Police, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Billy Idol and on and on. The set up instructions for the turntable were clear and easy to follow. You had the option for direct wired hookup through an amplifier (which I used, cable included with the turntable) or connectivity to Blue Tooth enabled wireless speakers. The sound quality was very good, no excessive hissing and spitting. Now I just need to find that box of 45rpm singles my wife says is floating around.

My first automatic turntable? Possibly my forever turntable.
I heard a lot of rave reviews about this particular turntable, not least of which is because of its automatic features. Although that was the main selling point for me. And while it doesn’t play 78 RPM records, or records recorded at 16 RPM, it will definitely suit most people with 33 1/3 or 45 RPM. And I like the fact that it gives the option to manually queue, the tone arm in case the automatic system fails, but where is the point in having an automatic if you’re going to operate it manually? But I actually first heard about this through Rolling Stone, because every year around the holidays, they have a suggested gift guide. At the time, this was a new offering from Sony, and I had a semi automatic turntable when I lived with my dad, but until then I’d never seen a fully automatic turntable outside of a jukebox, of course. So I decided to pony up the dough and buy this one. Absolutely no buyers remorse whatsoever. And my old angels horn went to a good home. But I bought an automatic because I was afraid that my manual queue of the record might damage it. It sounds great hooked up to my sound bar, particularly with maximum gain. And with the built-in phono preamp, there’s no need to have other equipment ones hooked up to a speaker. The automatic features seem to work nicely. It’s great how I can just hit the start button, and everything else is done for me with regard to the tone arm placement. Tracking forces preset by the manufacturer, as well as the anti-skate solution. Overall, it’s a great turntable so far, and I hope it lasts, as many Soni products are built to do.

Great sound through Bluetooth amp
I was very impressed with the quality of sound from this, especially for the price. Connected it to a bluetooth amp, and it works great! I have a large record collection I probably haven’t played in 30 years. Brought back some memories hearing my favorite artists on vinyl. For those wondering, this does NOT have traditional RCA output jacks that you can plug into. Instead it has a permanently connected cord coming out from the inside with two RCA jacks to plug into your amplifier or speakers. That’s the only thing I don’t care for.

AWESOME first turntable, but USB is not for digital audio
LOVE this turntable. I’m just jumping on the vinyl wagon. The front panel buttons do feel cheap and clunky, but the sound makes up for it. As a starter record player, at least. The RCA cable/connectors are not separate, they’re built into the unit. That’s dumb, and i will probably move on past this turntable, even for that reason alone. But in terms of just having something to experience vinyl again for the first time in years, this machine has been a great place to start.I bought a second one for my son, also an interested newcomer to vinyl, because he will use the Bluetooth capability. While i acknowledge how cool that connection option is, it’s not something i tested or would even need.

Easy to set up, great sound
I got this so we could listen to all our old vinyl. It was really easy to set up, looks good, compact (for my tiny house) and sounds great. Just put the record on, turn on your bluetooth speaker, push the button, and it plays great music. Easy to use, even for the technology-adverse people I know.

Feels cheap, but looks and sounds expensive
The media could not be loaded.
This player sounds worlds better than that other thing I had (Victrola portable turntable from Wally World) so I am very happy. When paired with the Sony receiver, you can adjust the phono offset to make it sound so so good. Alone it sounds nice I’m sure but with the receiver though… amazing. So why the 4 stars? Never have I bought a Sony product, and opened it up to find cheap feeling plastic buttons. The buttons feel fake, like this whole thing is a prop or something. The buttons are cheap feeling, the whole thing is so light it will move when you press one of them, so you have to kindof grip the top while pressing any of them. I know it’s probably to keep it affordable. The good thing is visually, the turntable looks really classy to say the least. It looks very very expensive!! Feels cheap, looks expensive. Sounds expensive. I recommend this player, especially with the bells and whistles. I have the receiver and the Sony bookshelf speakers (and the subwoofer is on the way because I need them lows) and yes, I put it on top of the receiver even though it hangs off the back, I made it work. Invest, it’s worth it. The affordability is unbeatable for the quality.Note: when hooking this up, make sure you have the input switch in the correct position in the back (line or phono) at first I had it hooked up to my receiver under phono but the switch was set to line, so the sound being sent to the speakers was awful, I thought I had a defective unit. I thought my speaker wire was bad maybe? I was almost crushed, then I saw that switch. Whew! It works like a charm. Also, out of the box the needle is covered up with a clear protector, and it was a bear to pull off, but Im sure the manual has tips for it I didn’t see. The whole cartridge came off with it and I had to tinker with that to get it back on, but no sweat. You will need the instructions for set up, you have to put the turn table on the thing and loop the belt around the other thing, it’s super easy, but it takes some focus while handling the thin, delicate belt, careful not to twist or damage it. It’s easy though. The hinges for the lid is taped to the bottom of the styrofoam (very well hidden) and anyone could easily throw them away by accident, so be aware of that.Bottom line is, yea it’s worth it. Just may want to invest in good output options to help this shine. I’m overall proud of my purchase and recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind the cheap feel but classy look.

Excellent System Upgrade
This turntable is very functional and has great sound. It even plays my older albums with clarity. It’s not as good as my old B&O, but it is a fine unit.

Great Turntable, missing Parts
After a lot of research this seemed like the turntable for me. It is affordable, is functional, and requires no difficult set up. There is a very simple guide to putting on the belt, which is nice for eventual replacements. Visually it is nice and simplistic but there small black splatters in the plastic. They are not noticeable and don’t bother me but you definitely can’t see that in the listing pictures. The needle picks up and drops itself, it has 2 speeds and plays 7 and 12 inch records. It comes with a jukebox cut adapter and a removable dust cover that just slides over the hinges. I bought this model specifically because it boasted a usb adapter, but there was none in my box. I am not sure how that happened, but it is frustrating when I was trying to convert some older records. If you are not dead set on digitizing anything and are just collecting vinyl this is a great purchase for you.

Incredible
Okay, listen… I set it up wrong at first. I set it up wrong 15 more times. I even started the return process because I thought it was bunk. Then, I figured it out… I put the belt on the wrong pulley. Oops. This record player is incredible! I have it synced to my soundbar and subwoofer, I’m never looking back. It’s sleek, easy to use (once you get passed your own ignorance), and the sound is CRISP! Love.

It’s cool but
You have to buy speakers separately of course and connecting it to Bluetooth is extremely difficult. Directions not clear at all.

A decent USB turntable
I tried for a day and a half to get this brand-new turntable to work, without success. Then I noticed that the stylus was not seated properly. After re-seating the stylus, the turntable now seems to be working. With the Audacity app, I can digitize my vinyl records. I then use Cyberlink PowerDirector to post-process, though this could probably also be done in Audacity (a free download). What’s more, while recording I can simultaneously connect my Bose bluetooth headphones and and listen live. I’ve got about 200 vinyl records to digitize, and expect to do that with this turntable.Pros: Turntable seems to function well whether connected via bluetooth or USB. Noise is minimal, sound quality is good. Replacement styluses are readily available on Amazon, should you ever need one.Cons: My biggest criticisms are rather minor. Fumbling around, removing and replacing the stylus is tedious. The tone arm does not lift upright very high, making it difficult to see clearly what you are doing with the stylus.Overall, the Sony PS-LX310BT turntable is performing well, and I would recommend it.

Sony has a winner with this outstanding turntable!
I can’t say enough about how pleased I am with this turntable. Being a baby boomer I have owned a few turntables during the era of component stereo systems. I abandoned vinyl with the introduction of CD’s. I do stream music but have come to re-appreciate vinyl and it’s physicality. This is a perfect turntable for my needs. I love the minimalist design, the easy bluetooth pairing (literally within two second after initial pairing) and it sounds fantastic with my Bose sound bar and subwoofer. I don’t buy into much of what the vinyl fanatics say about only using traditional RCA connections , receiver/amps and floor speakers for pure sound. I don’t have the space for all that anymore, Why not embrace technology that’s easy to use, sounds great with a much smaller footprint? I have found that when records don’t sound very good it’s more of an issue with the pressing or mastering than with the equipment it’s played on assuming you’re using decent equipment! I also don’t believe that manual turntables are essential to the vinyl experience. Just place the record, give it a light brushing, push a button, let the automatic turntable do it’s thing.I did make two upgrades. I replaced the neoprene platter mat with a rubber one. The Feir mat sold here on Amazon is a great replacement at a minimal price. I placed it upside down so it has the same flat look as the original neoprene mat, with no sound degradation. I also replaced the included conical stylus with an upgraded elliptical stylus from LP Gear. That item is not sold on Amazon but direct from the manufacturer and is a smart add-on for about $50. I agree with others regarding the hard wired-in RCA cables. It would have been nice to have plugs instead and add the cables if you need them, but that is certainly not a problem. Just tuck them away out of sight. I disagree with reviews that say the that the mostly plastic build is “cheap.” The design of the turntable far outweighs the well concealed fact that the unit is plastic/aluminum. Cleaning tip: to clean dust off the dust cover without scratching it, dampen a soft cloth or microfiber towel with water and “blot” the top of the cover instead of wiping it You’ll pick up the dust and not leave any unsightly scratches. Enjoy your purchase!

A Good Turntable For Different Reasons
I’m going to start off by saying I like this turntable. If suits my needs. My needs are – I want a turntable that is fully automatic so I can lay down listening to a record and not have to worry about getting up to turn it off. I want a turntable that can produce decent sound from my collected vinyl over the years. This turntable does both. Records will never be my main source of recorded music again. I just wanted a convenient way to play my records with decent music reproduction. That being said this unit cannot reproduce music like a $500.00 and up turntable. I have a $500.00 manual turntable with a very nice cartridge and it outperforms this turntable quite a bit reproduction wise. I love it and I hate it at the same time. Music wise it is great. Convenience wise it is the pits. I have to know the last song on the record so I can prepare myself to get up and stop it. And for sure don’t fall asleep or your needle will be grinding away. So I had to decide do I want great sound with inconvenience and hate it or good sound with convenience and love it. Since records are not my main source of music I choose the convenience and good sound of the Sony. I am pleased with the unit but again if you are looking for top audiophile from a turntable this is not the one. If you want really good sound plus the convenience of an automatic turntable this is for you, and for me.UPDATEAfter using this turntable a while I am pleased with it. I have no issues with speed fluctuations. It makes me wonder if the folks that are having problems with the speed have the belt twisted around the motor pulley or it is not properly installed around the platter radius. It is a flat belt, not a cord belt so I can see where if not careful it could be twisted. While you can’t change the cartridge, you can upgrade the stylus (needle) to an elliptical cut instead of the conical stylus shipped with it. An elliptical stylus will get you more upper range from your records. I also replaced the felt pad cover with a nice acrylic cover. Then I bought a turntable weight that fits over the turntable spindle. I’m going to have to tell you for a $200.00 turntable it sounds really nice. I was surprised. The bluetooth works flawlessly and sounds exceptional for a bluetooth signal. I send the signal right to my elaborate 5.1 setup and the sound is amazing. Tons of bass (with a subwoofer) and very good highs. Another area where this unit excels is the smoothness of the automatic functions. Very smooth operation with no jerks and the tone arm raises and lowers with damped precision. The buttons for start, stop and lower/raise the tone arm are mechanical but they are smooth too. Electronic touch buttons would be nice but that would have added more cost and the mechanical buttons work just fine. I wrapped up my $500.00 manual turntable and will store it totally sealed up in my closet and someday pull it out if needed. But for me this turntable sounds great even with bluetooth and just so convenient to use.UPDATEAfter using this turntable for months now, I am totally sold on it. I don’t care what the the audio experts say, this unit sounds excellent even using bluetooth. It has a very smooth operating mechanism and it utilizes damping when lowering the stylus to the record. Very smooth. The aesthetic materials that is made of while stable and very adequate, it does not have a high end look to it But you are getting a well built and excellent sounding turntable for the price of some of those cheap all-in-one units that use a ceramic cartridge. This unit utilizes a magnetic cartridge. The only negative thing I have found is a replacement stylus which is not available on Amazon at this time is expensive. Ridiculously priced. I purchase two stylus just to have then on hand. The first time I ordered from a Sony Authorized Dealer it cost me $40.00. I ordered another months later and to my surprise it was $60.00. But I have three stylus now and that should last for years and it is worth it to me.

Excellent first turntable! Easy to use, USB, Bluetooth, RCA outputs.
If you’re looking for an aesthetically-appealing, idiot-proof turntable that will sound shockingly good for its price while affording tons of playback flexibility, don’t hesitate on the Sony PS-LX310BT.I have thousands of dollars of audiophile-grade headphones, but I had never been interested in vinyl. Then my wife realized she could collect Taylor Swift records AND listen to them with my equipment. So I was tasked with finding a reasonable entry-grade turntable.I ended up going with this Sony due to a number of factors.Sony is a reliable brand.I have never had a Sony product I didn’t feel was at least mid-tier in terms of quality, if not premium. They have just never disappointed. Overpriced at times – perhaps, but never a letdown. That trend continues with this turntable – and I think it’s an insane value compared to its competition in terms of features as well.Simple and easy to use.Having seen spooky stories of damaged vinyl and equipment in forums, as a first time, this was important to me. But it’s pretty easy once you’re familiarized. You put a record on, you remove the stylus cover, you turn it on, press start, and it just goes until the side is complete. When it’s done, it auto-stops. It’s great. Apparently lots of turntables don’t auto-stop, and can damage your vinyl or “stylus tip” (there’s a technical term I’m not recalling). Oh, and want to pause or change the spot on the record? There’s a raise/lower toggle to allow you to do either!Flexible playback options.I can hook it up to my amplifiers via either USB-B or RCA, and they sound impressively similar. My wife loves using the Bluetooth for our living room soundbar. I wouldn’t stress about which one sounds better, you’re likely limited by your vinyl at this point. Dynamic range seemed the same to me.Excellent sound quality.I have no reference point for other turntables, but playing out of our high-end Samsung soundbar via Bluetooth, Taylor’s vinyl sounds as good as our lossless music sources like Amazon Music HD and Apple Music. I couldn’t discern a difference easily. On an audiophile headphone setup, such as my HDV 820 and HD800S combo, there is some dynamic range and soundstage expanse missing between Taylor Swift’s 24-bit/44.1khz digital masters. But this more likely a limitation of the vinyl press, than the turntable itself. I’m not a fan of the pops and hisses – and they’re there, but as soon as music gets rolling, you forget about them / don’t hear them until it’s quiet/silent again. I also don’t care for a specifically warmer sound that people love from vinyl, and there’s a touch of this, but I didn’t feel like it was overly-coloring the sound.Dust cover! You can remove this too, if you prefer the aesthetic, but we live in Arizona, and our house is dusty minutes after cleaning it. Must-have.What I didn’t like.- Power button location: I wish the power button wasn’t on the back-side, but it’s easy enough to feel and find.- RCAs hardwired: Probably my biggest complaint. I wish the RCAs weren’t hardwired in. Would have preferred just female jacks like the USB output, and utilize a provided cable. Were these to get damaged, you’d have to have the unit rewired/repaired. but I just keep them cable-managed, and it’s fine. Just keep out of reach of your puppies, cats and small children. In summary, I’m convinced there’s no better option for a turntable under $200 (at time of review). You get wireless with USB, analog with RCA and digital with USB. It’s easy to use and has fail-safes to avoid damaging the equipment and records. Sony has produced a good looking, thoughtful, value-laiden turntable in this PS-LX310BT.

Easy setup, works beautifully and look great!
My first record player. Putting it together is like 5 steps. It synched perfectly with my Sony Bluetooth receiver and the sound quality is perfect. No real need for the wired audio connection but they don’t seem to be removable form the player. The player looks great, much better than those DJ-looking entry level turntables that are comparable.Only 2 things I’d change: the front button to play/stop are kinda cheap feeling, and the dust cover is tinted making it difficult to see the vinyl spinning. Keep in mind if you buy a lot of decorative vinyl.

Good quality first turntable
I have a Numark direct drive turntable (that’s about 25 years old). It works fine, but I wanted a modern turntable with Bluetooth, and after some research I decided on this Sony model. It was very easy to setup- just attach the belt, and connect the acrylic lid. That’s about it.Connecting to a Bluetooth speaker and my headphones was easy, just like any other connection. The sound is nice and loud, either through BT or direct analog bookshelf speakers (via the built in RCA jacks). The operation is either automatic or manual. I prefer auto for when I’m listening and doing chores around the house. It just stops when the side is done. It’s a Sony product, so it’s good quality.Cons? Well, it’s a Sony product so it’s overpriced. I got it on sale for $199, but it feels more like a $150 set. It’s very light weight, so it doesn’t have much of a premium feel. It’s nice, just very basic.Pros? The sound is good. I’m not an audiophile but I know what sounds good. With my home setup, the sound is pretty decent for what I listen to. I think if I had better bookshelf speakers it might sound a little better. The built in pre-amp does a decent job.Overall, I think this is a good first turntable for someone getting into vinyl. I have confidence that if used with care and taken care of, it will last me quite a few years.

Exceptional Vinyl Record Player with Modern Features
I am thoroughly impressed with the Sony PS-LX310BT Belt Drive Turntable! As a vinyl enthusiast, this turntable has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, convenience, and sound quality.Firstly, the fully automatic operation makes playing vinyl records a breeze. With just a push of a button, the tonearm automatically lifts, moves into position, and gently lowers onto the record, providing a smooth and precise playback experience. This feature is perfect for both beginners and seasoned vinyl collectors alike. The sound quality is exceptional. The belt drive mechanism minimizes vibrations and ensures a clear and balanced audio output. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the richness and depth of sound compared to other turntables I’ve used.I also appreciate the modern wireless connectivity options. The built-in Bluetooth allows me to wirelessly connect my favorite Bluetooth speakers or headphones, providing flexibility in where I can enjoy my vinyl collection without compromising on sound quality. The design is sleek and minimalist, fitting seamlessly into my home audio setup. The build quality is sturdy, and the included dust cover helps protect the turntable when not in use.Overall, I highly recommend the Sony PS-LX310BT Belt Drive Turntable to anyone looking for a high-quality, user-friendly vinyl record player. It combines classic vinyl playback with modern features, delivering an outstanding listening experience.

Did not power on!!
I purchased this very expensive record player after I realized the cheaper one I wanted had no Bluetooth output. This Sony version specialized in Bluetooth output so I ordered it. It is also a Sony product so I figured it would be a great product. Once it arrived I assembled it and was ready to try it out. The manual recommends that you pair the Bluetooth before you play a record. I tried pairing it multiple times but the blue lights for pairing never came on. I then tried to just play a record and nothing worked. It seemed it wouldn’t power on. I tried multiple outlets, unplugging the adapter and plugging it back it, but nothing worked. I then decided to check Amazon for reviews to see if anyone else had the same problem. To my surprise others reported the same issue! I was shocked that a $200 record player from a major brand would be a lemon! Now I have to return it and I’m sure the UPS store is going to charge me money to ship it back since Amazon says the return must be put in a box with no shipping labels. So, this is going to cost me money and worst of all, I didn’t get to play any of my records. I do not recommend buying this product. Even though I love the Sony brand, this product is a clear miss.

A fantastic entry level record player.
This has to be one of the most adult things that I have ever purchased. I love it. There are some things that just bring simple joy from the physical way it made to it’s use and function. It’s not perfect but for the price it’s a fantastic value. The design choices and use of materials reflect sophistication. The unit is not overly busy with unnecessary visual distractions.I don’t have enough experience with high end audio equipment to tell you if this has better sound quality than another record player or not. I can tell you it sounds amazing. I can tell you I would be surprised if someone could blindly tell the difference between this record player and literally anything else. Obviously using good quality vinyl makes all the difference in the world when you are making music from a physical media. I have been to an orchestra in person and I can tell you that playing Bach through this player attached to my Sony 2ch STR-DH190 and Klipsch speakers sounds like I am actually sitting there in the room with the instruments. The Sony unit does a fantastic job of playing the records I own. There is zero detectable imperfections in sound quality. When it comes to build quality, I think Sony has done a good job with the budget level that this is at. It is plastic but it does not necessarily look cheap sitting on my desk. It’s very pleasant to look at. The tone arm is super light, it feels as though it has no weight at all. Obviously the engineers know what they are doing at Sony because it sounds great, but it would have been nice to feel a bit of weight on the tone arm. In reality though I never touch the tone arm with the automatic features of the unit. I just press start or stop and it does the work. In this scenario it’s a way to keep the cost down for sure.Notably absent was any sort of grounding cable. I don’t know why it’s missing, but I do know most record players come with a ground. It does not seem to affect the sound quality. The RCA cables are too short. This limited my placement of the unit and kept me from lining things up the way I initially wanted to. These need to be lengthened, or allow for the use of aftermarket cables. When the unit comes new you will need to install the platter and attach the rubber belt drive to the motor. Looking under the platter is not going to make you feel like you bought anything special. It’s plastic gears galore. If the goal is to listen to music then this is again, a good place to save money.Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking of getting started in Vinyl. I would buy it again. If I ever upgrade it in the future to something more expensive it will be purely for aesthetics and not sound quality.

Perfect if you want to play those old LPs!
I have had some of my old LPs sitting around for ages. My better half convinced me to get rid of a lot of them years ago but I kept my favorites anyway. They still just sat there because I didn’t have speakers or a turntable and definitely did not want to set up a receiver. Alas, I found speakers that don’t need a receiver and then I found this turntable. The beauty of it is that both the speakers and the turntable have bluetooth connectivity. I didn’t have an app or anything to make the connection so I just followed the direction for speakers and this turntable and BAM – it connected (you can also connect via wires if you want). Loving listening to my old favorites and now I’m buying used albums to listen as well. Happy I purchased this turntable!
